Starting Wednesday there's free tax help in Pueblo for low income households.
Households making less than $49,000 per year may qualify for free income tax e-filing. VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) is providing free tax services February 3 through April 15.
IRS certified volunteers will be available at six locations in Pueblo to help prepare e-filed tax forms for both federal and state income taxes. No appointment is necessary, individuals will be seen on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Be sure to bring all of the following items for you and your dependent(s) if applicable: photo identification, social security card(s), birthdate(s), a copy of last year's tax return (if applicable), wage and earning statement(s) Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R from each employer, interest and dividend statements from banks (from 1099), bank account number if you desire a direct deposit, if filing a joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign required forms, if claiming day care expenses, total amount paid and day care providers Tax Identification Number.
