Fremont County DMV, Treasury Burglarized

The Fremont County Administrative Building will remain closed until Monday while detectives work to determine who broke in overnight on Wednesday.

According to sheriff's deputies, the burglars broke in through a window on the roof then lowered themselves into the building through a ceiling tile and ransacked the Department of Motor Vehicles and Treasury offices. They got away with a couple hundred dollars. Officials don't believe documents with any personal information were taken at this time, but detectives are still processing the scene.

Officials spent twelve hours on Thursday sifting through the damage. "A lot of man hours were expended trying to secure the exterior, then we had to send a team in to the interior of the building, we had to send a team up on the roof, we called a k9. We had to have deputies crawl up into the ceiling area to make sure the suspects weren't hiding up in there," Captain Don Pinover of the Fremont County Sheriff's Office told News 5.

Deputies aren't sure how many people were involved; if you have any information you're asked to call the Fremont County Sheriff's Office.
