Friday stabbing sends one to hospital another to jail

In what remains a bit of a mystery officers from the Gold Hill Division of the Colorado Springs Police were called to an area near Memorial Park on the report of a possible stabbing. When officers arrived they found a lone white male who had a single stab wound to his back. As officers were getting the man transported to Memorial Hospital, they attempted to ascertain what had precipitated the stabbing and asked for a description of the assailant.

Officers were able to determine through their investigation that the stabbing had occurred in the 700 block of S. Foote Ave where an officer had been able to gain a description of a suspect and a vehicle. One officer had observed a vehicle matching the description and a traffic stop was initiated. A male suspect was taken into custody and later identified as 28 year old, Brian G Wright. Officers were not able to get the victim to say what had transpired to bring on the attack. The victim was later released from Memorial Hospital with only minor injuries.
