Co-workers of a Fountain veterinarian badly injured in a bizarre accident in Wyoming are holding a fundraiser this weekend to help cover the enormous cost of his medical expenses.
Dr. James Graf and his wife Patty were riding mules to a campsite in Teton National Forest when they came across a grizzly bear. The mules, startled and frightened by the grizzly, began bucking wildly and threw Dr. Graf into a jagged pile of rocks and logs. He suffered numerous fractures, including a collarbone shattered so severly that it punctured one of his lungs. Medical expenses have already topped $14,000 and the number of appointments has declined with Dr. Graf out of the office likely through January.
This weekend's fundraiser includes pet photography, costume contest, hot dogs, silent auction, karaoke, and garage/bake sale of donated items. Cash donations will be during the event.
