"Funeral Bandit" nabbed in Lakewood

A man wanted for burlarizing homes while families were at funerals has been arrested here in Colorado.

On Monday, March 25, Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol arrested a wanted man dubbed "The Funeral Bandit" by Michigan authorities.

44-year old Todd Lloyd Griffin is supected least 16 burglaries in five counties across southeastern Michigan.

He allegedly targeted homes of grieving families, stealing property from the vacant houses while the residents attended funerals. Michigan authorities also believe that he burglarized vacant homes awaiting estate sales.

Griffin was arrested as he was leaving a pawn shop in the Denver suburb, where he was taken into custody without incident.


The owner of the business told Troopers that Griffin had sold him nearly $3000 worth of miscellaneous jewelry pieces.

Griffin will be extradited back to Michigan.
