Funeral for Sammi Jo

Funeral services will be held Friday for Sammi Jo Gaunt, the Canon City teen who died in a car accident earlier this week.
The 17 year old was remembered by her friends and softball teammate from Canon City High School as an energetic girl who had a voice that carried across the field.
Sammi was killed Sunday in Penrose, when her car crashed into a tree. Investigators say she was not wearing her seat belt.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1435 Elm Ave. Burial at Lakeside Cemetery in Cañon City.
