COLORADO SPRINGS - Two landmark tourist attractions are closed to due to the flood waters. High water levels in Camp Creek forced the closures of the Garden of the Gods and the Rockledge Ranch Historic site.
Camp Creek actually washed away part of a foot bridge on the Rockledge site and over-topped a second bridge a short ways downstream.
This weekend is supposed to be the ranch's Folk Art Festival, their biggest fundraiser of the year.
"This is a big fundraiser for us, plus people even mark this on their calendars and plan their vacations around this event," explained manager Andy Morris. "So, it was mighty sad today when we had to shut this down."
The festival typically draws around 8,000 people a day. Morris hopes to have the site tomorrow and Sunday. However, a last minute cancellation is possible should the weather turns bad.
