The Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center in Colorado Springs offers a variety of exhibits, including a one-of-a-kind dinosaur.
Theio, short for Theiophytalia kerri, was discovered in Garden of the Gods in 1878 by a Colorado College professor. It was misidentified for more than 100 years, but has now been pegged as the only one ever found.
Here's a rundown of the 7 hands-on displays at the Visitor & Nature Center that will both entertain and teach you children:
* Jurassic World
* The Red Rock People
* Daybreak Detective
* Rocks of the Garden Geology
* Clues to the Past
* Mountains of Colorado
* Homes in the Rocks
The Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center is open 9 am - 5 pm until Memorial Day, 8 am - 8 pm Memorial Day to Labor Day. Admission is free.
