A natural gas line break in Colorado Springs forced crews to shut down part of E. Platte Ave. Monday morning. Since then they've been working to get it fully opened back up.

It was a two-inch residential natural gas line -- one of the smaller ones -- that broke around 9 a.m. No one had to be evacuated, but crews with C.S.F.D. say they probably would have to have evacuations if it was a larger line.

A two-block section of E. Platte Ave. was closed at N. Sheridan Ave. while crews worked to find it.

Construction crews were already working nearby; they were able to help patch the line in 15 minutes according to C.S.F.D.

As for the road; they say E. Platte Ave. will likely be down to one-lane traffic into sometime Monday afternoon while they work to repair the road.
