The Goodwill has announced plans to re-open a retail center in Pueblo this fall. The new location has not been selected yet, however the organization says it will employ about 42 workers and will be set up like other Goodwill stores.
The former Goodwill store in Pueblo lost its affiliation after questionable decisions by its leadership. Debra Diaz, a former CEO, was arrested last year on suspicion of embezzlement. After Diaz was fired, David Skul took over the non-profit. However Skul was later fired as well, when he was accused of making financial transactions that weren't approved by the board of directors.
We're trying to find out more about Goodwill's future plans in Pueblo and how they plan to restore public confidence.
