Google enlists NSA to fight off cyberattacks

The Washington Post is reporting that Google has teamed up with the National Security Agency to halt cyber-attacks.

While the agreement is still be finalized, Google is seeking help analyzing an espionage attack that the firm says originated in China.  The series of incursions targeted Google's source code - the programming language underlying Google applications. Thirty other tech, defense, energy, financial and media companies were also targeted.

The NSA is remaining mum on the arrangement but sources say Google users should not worry about their personal accounts. The NSA's aim is to protect users and their information from foreign governments.

On Jan. 12, Google threatened to pull out of China over the attacks.
