Gov. Hickenlooper visits Colorado Springs

Governor Hickenlooper visited Colorado Springs today as part of a state-wide tour to meet with local officials.

Hickenlooper and Mayor Bach discussed transportation, signed a transit bill into law, and answered questions from local officials in a town-hall forum. Topics included business permits, road construction, and public funding.

Mayor Bach says this is the best way for our state officials to get closer to local issues. "I think its important for the governor to meet with our elected officials here and hear what they have to say, but also for us to offer him help at the state level," he told News 5. Bach hopes to hold these meetings on a regular basis to work on regional issues adn get things done in the Pikes Peak area.
