Grocery bag bans in effect for some CO stores

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Grocery shoppers in Aspen and Carbondale are getting free reusable bags as a ban on plastic shopping bags go into effect.

The bans going into effect on Tuesday require shoppers to bring their own reusable bags, buy paper sacks at the store for 20 cents apiece, or purchase reusable bags.

According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent local agencies are providing free bags for the next several months.
