A group home director accused of sexually assaulting a 13 year old girl in his care formally heard the charges against him in court Wednesday.
Michael Broadnax, 29, was arrested on Friday by investigators with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office on a charge of sexual assault on a child by a one in a position of trust.
Court documents revealed his accuser told detectives in February that Broadnax performed oral sex on her and forced her to have intercourse with him a month prior.
The assault reportedly occurred in the backseat of his Ford Expedition while parked near Penrose hospital. She described the assault happening on a pink blanket and that afterward Broadnax sprayed different bottles cologne on each of them.
Broadnax, who ran the Axios Youth Community center in Green Mountain Falls, denied the accusations to investigators.
Outside of the courtroom Broadnax declined to comment about the accusations. The Axios home has given notice to the Department of Human Services that they will be closing down. D.H.S. spokesperson Jennifer Brown says the children will be relocated on Friday.
Broadnax is free on $25,000 bond. He's due in court next on June 11.
