DENVER (AP) - An avalanche overtook a group of 15 skiers at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, but no serious injuries were reported.

A statement released by the Summit County resort says an A-Basin ski patroller was leading a group of 14 skiers when the avalanche was triggered in west Montezuma Bowl at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday.

The area was closed to the general public, but the resort says it had undergone "extensive" avalanche mitigation in recent days.

The Denver Post reports all of the skiers were accounted for, and one of them had to be taken off the mountain because of a knee injury.

The resort and the Colorado Avalanche Information Center are investigating.
