Group tries to preserve historic Pueblo homes

A group in Pueblo wants to make sure the city's historic heritage is preserved for generations. Historic Pueblo Inc. is hosting a tour of homes on Sunday, Oct. 4.

There are seven homes on the tour, and some of them are more than a hundred years old. The group is trying to raise money to buy plaques for homes, which help to preserve them from being destroyed. "We've had way too many homes in Pueblo demolished in the last ten years or so for parking lots and what have you. We're a force in trying to stop this," said Laurel Campbell with Historic Pueblo Inc.

The historic home tour and fundraiser runs this Sunday in Pueblo from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Colorado Heritage Center at 201 W. B St. Children 12 and under get in for free.
