BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A group of Boulder residents wants their city to establish a sister-city relationship with Nablus in the West Bank.
The Boulder Daily Camera reported Sunday that the group plans a two-day conference in the West Bank starting on Dec. 27.
Backers say the conference will help meet a City Council requirement that Boulder have a strong citizen-to-citizen relationship with the other city to establish a sister-city relationship.
Boulder already has seven sister-city relationships. Lisa Morzel, a member of the City Council's sister city committee, praises the group's enthusiasm but says sending a delegation to Nablus is premature.
She says council members have to discuss whether a relationship with Nablus is appropriate.
