A group of citizens is trying to collect enough signatures to get a change of city government on the Colorado Springs ballot in November.
The group is called Citizens for Accountable Leadership. They want the mayor of the city to be the full-time chief executive of the city.
The group says it has collected more than 16,000 signatures, but needs 25,000.
"We have received a positive response from the community," said Spokesperson Andy McElhany. "Our early success in gathering signatures demonstrates that Colorado Springs citizens support this proposal."
