A love-triangle that turned into a murder-for-insurance scheme ended with a guilty verdict Thursday morning. A jury in Canon City found Andrew Tanner guilty of nine charges, including first degree murder in the 2008 shooting death of Jim Durgan. Tanner will be automatically sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. His sentencing is set for October 26.

Durgan's body was found dumped in the Arkansas River last July. His wife, Kristin, was having an affair with Tanner. Kristin pled guilty to her role in the murder scheme in exchange for her testimony against Tanner and a third suspect, Brian Folsom.
