AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Broam Hart and Jon Lee each went over 100 yards and scored twice to help Air Force open the season with a 38-13 win over Colgate on Saturday.
As they customarily do, the Falcons relied heavily on their ground game, amassing 409 yards. Lee finished with 130 yards and Hart added 101, becoming the first Air Force tandem to eclipse the 100-yard mark since 2009.
Backup quarterback Jaleel Awini was solid in relief of injured starter Kale Pearson as Air Force improved to 7-0 in openers under coach Troy Calhoun.
A young Air Force squad trailed the Raiders by a touchdown early, before scoring 38 straight points to take command of the game. Pearson was effective in running the option offense in his first career start, only to suffer what appeared to be a right knee injury on a running play late in the second quarter.
