FORT COLLINS, CO (AP) - A May 14 preliminary hearing has been set for a 23-year-old man accused of shooting a Loveland police officer.
Cody Powell's attorneys requested the hearing Thursday.
Powell is accused of shooting officer Garret Osilka (oh-SIL'-kuh) during a traffic stop March 4.
The officer survived the shooting and is recovering.
Besides attempted murder of a peace officer, Powell is charged with motor-vehicle theft, assault, using a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
Judge Stephen Howard ordered that Powell be put on an "active GPS monitor" if he posts his $500,000 bond.
