A few showers and thunderstorms moving through southern Colorado this evening. They will continue to move to the east. The biggest threat with the storms will be dangerous lightning. There could be a little hail as well.
The big weather story over the coming week will be heat. Temperatures are expected to soar 10° to 15° above normal into the 90°s and 100°s starting as soon as this weekend. Long range computer forecast models suggest the heat will stick at least through next Friday.
If you are looking for rain, today/this evening is your best chance over the next eight days. - Meteorologist John Dissauer
