Heavy rain produced by showers and thunderstorms is moving across southern Colorado Wednesday afternoon. The Pueblo airport picked up over an inch of rain and the KOAA Pueblo studios picked up 0.58" of rain in about 30 minutes.
Abundant moisture in the low levels of the atmosphere have transported in to the viewing area on easterly winds. Energy in the upper-levels of the atmosphere is moving in to southern Colorado from the southwest. This will keep a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast through this evening and overnight. If you get under a thunderstorm, heavy downpours will be possible.
Low temperatures tonight will be in the 50°s to lower 60°s.
Clouds along with showers and thunderstorms will again be possible starting late morning Thursday. Heavy rain could again be a possibility Thursday afternoon before the rain exits the area overnight Thursday/Friday. Temperatures will top out in the 70°s Thursday afternoon. - Meteorologist John Dissauer
