The Designated Driver of Colorado Springs non-profit agency is in need of volunteers this holiday season.
Since 2009, the agency has helped keep intoxicated drivers off the streets by providing a taxi-like service for residents.
"We work in teams of two," Nonie Rispin said. "One person drives the impaired person home in their vehicle and then the other volunteer follows in another car so we can pick up our driver and move onto the next ride."
Over the years, Rispin has partnered with businesses to provide this service free of charge to folks who may have had just a bit too much to drink.
She relies solely on volunteers for the service, and that's become a bit of an issue especially with New Year's Day just around the corner.
"Most of our volunteers are away for the holidays," she said.
If you'd like to volunteer, call Rispin at 466-4768.
All volunteers must have a valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
