Highway 115 reopened after fatal accident

Two soldiers from Fort Carson have been killed and another is in critical condition after a head on collision on State Highway 115 south of Colorado Springs.  Highway 115 was closed for over 4 hours.

At about 5:15 a.m. Saturday, a black Audi sedan crossed over the center line and collided head on with a utility type truck.  Two passengers in the Audi were pronounced dead at the scene while the driver was transported to Memorial  Hospital in critical condition.  All three men are from Fort Carson.  The driver of the utility truck was transported to the hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.  The Colorado State Patrol says that alcohol and speed appear to have been a factor in the crash.

A third vehicle struck the two vehicles after the crash as well.  The driver of that car was uninjured.

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash.
