Hoehne High School won the 8-man football championship game 58-30 at Granada Saturday. The Hoehne Farmers finished their season a perfect 13-0.

In the 4A football semifinals, number-one seed Pueblo West lost at five-seed Monarch 14-6. Cyclones star running back Derek Jackson ran for 194 yards and finished the season 73 yards short of the state record, set by 8-man's Myles Smith of Cheyenne Wells in 2003. Jackson's 3,343 yards this season is still an eleven-man record.

In the other 4A semifinal game, ten-seed Mesa Ridge lost to three-seed Denver South 38-22. Mesa Ridge had never won a football playoff game before this season and the Grizzlies finished 2012 just two wins short of a state championship.

In the 3A semifinals at Dutch Clark Stadium, five-seed Pueblo East lost to one-seed Rifle 56-6. This was the East Eagles' first appearance in the state final four.
