CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) - Colorado theater shooting suspect James Holmes is returning to court for a hearing amid maneuvering by both sides over a prosecution request for more psychiatric examination of Holmes.
No decisions are expected during the hearing Wednesday. The judge plans to reschedule arguments on the prosecution request.
Holmes pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to charges of killing 12 people and injuring 70 at a Denver-area movie theater in July 2012. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
Holmes underwent a sanity evaluation last summer. Those results haven't been made public, but prosecutors want further evaluation.
