Holy Smoke BBQ showdown returns to Canon City

The savory smell of barbecue pork, chicken, ribs and brisket will fill the air in Canon City today--June 11 and Saturday June 12th. The 3rd annual Holy Smoke Bar-B-Que Showdown is being held at the Holy Cross Abbey, located on Highway 50.
"We will have close to 40 teams competing for $8,500 in cash prizes," said Dan Brown, the event chairman.
The event runs both days from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Abbey football field. Admission is $3. Kids 12 and under get in for free. For more information visit the Holy Smoke Bar-B-Que Showdown's website.
