Homicide investigation involving UCCS student turns cold
It's been more than 2 months since Angelina Sicola, 20, was found dead inside her Colorado Springs apartment in the 3800 block of Half Turn Road. Detectives say she was strangled to death and admit they have few leads to go on. Sicola was a communications student at UCCS and worked at the US Taekwondo Center in Monument. Friends and family members are still trying to understand why somebody would want to harm her. A motive surrounding her death is not yet known. "It was of course a shock for everyone involved and certainly for me knowing what a kind person and what a hard working individual she was," Master Jay Lee said of Sicola's murder. Master Lee knew Sicola for six-years as she worked and trained at the center. He said everyone who worked with her had been shaken by the loss of the young woman who impacted the lives of many. "Everybody who was around her knew that her life was so promising, that she was wise beyond her years, she was very mature and well liked by all those around her," Lee said. Anyone with information regarding Sicola's death is asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000.
