Fire danger will be high across most of Southern Colorado Monday due to very dry conditions and a breezy west-southwest wind that will be gusting up to 35 mph at times. Monday will be a dry and hot day with highs close to record values under mostly to partly sunny skies. Expect highs around 100 degrees across parts of the Southeastern Plains.
After Monday and for the remainder of the week, afternoon temperatures will fall back into the 70s/80s. The pattern looks somewhat active during this time frame as well with a chance for showers and thunderstorms for most of Southern Colorado Tuesday through Saturday.
