A chemical-fed, raging fire has injured one person, caused minor damage to student housing at Colorado State University-Pueblo and destroyed a carpet-cleaning truck.
The fire is now out. Firefighters are making sure there's no hot embers that can reignite.
Pueblo Fire Department spokesman Woody Percival says a private carpet-cleaning company was cleaning the carpets in the dorms on the west side of the school when the fire broke out. The carpet-cleaning truck was completely engulfed in flames, which were fed by propane and carpet cleaning chemicals.
One person was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Percival says the person was a carpet cleaning worker.
Percival says the fire spread from the truck to the Walking Stick Apartments on the CSU-Pueblo campus, but damage is limited to the eaves.
