Crews from Colorado Springs Fire Dept responded to 116 E. Washington St in Colorado Springs last night around 8:30pm when a fire broke out in the home. Occupants of the home were able to evacuate the home after encountering smoke in the upstairs bedroom.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, investigators believe the fire may have begun in the chimney and which spread to the attic area of the home. Firefighters with the "After The Fire" program help occupants regroup and get started again after a fire or disaster.
