State Patrol is investigating a motorcycle accident on I-25 just south of Castle Rock. The rider had to be flown to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for State Patrol says the rider went down on their motorcycle just past mile marker 176, in the northbound lanes. Right now they don't believe any other vehicles were involved in the accident.

State Patrol says they've had closures in the northbound lanes while they're clearing the accident; they hope to have it reopened shortly.

No word on the rider's identity or the extent of the injuries; no word on if the rider was wearing a helmet.
