All southbound lanes of I-25 in Colorado Springs have reopened, but expect backups as volume slowly disperses.
The congestion was caused by a semi that caught fire on the shoulder of the road, between Unitah and Bijou. While the semi never blocked traffic, emergency crews shut down the right two lanes. Those lanes have reopened, but the burned semi remains on the side of the road. A tow truck will remove the burned hulk as soon as it can safely get hooked up.
There were no injuries.
