Injuries and a possible missing person have been reported following the massive flashflood that came off the Waldo Canyon burn scar and inundated Manitou Springs.
Witnesses say in just minutes water was suddenly rushing in from multiple directions.
Dozens of cars were either swept away by rushing water or caught in mud and debris. Emergency workers are working to figure a possible missing person has been swept away by the floods or if it is someone not accounted for in the chaos. Three injuries have been reported. The extent of injuries includes broken legs.
Like the last flashflood homes and structures along Canon Avenue in Manitou Springs were hit the hardest. Only this time it is much worse. Emergency crews are still assessing the extent of the damage. People evacuated from their homes in Manitou will likely not be allowed to return until tomorrow.
Utility workers have been responding to reports of gas leaks. They think they have gotten to all of them, but ask residents to keep reporting if they smell gas.
