The National Transportation Safety Board is headed to Aspen to begin an investigation on the plane that crashed Sunday afternoon.
A twin-engine private jet flipped and burst into flames as it tried to land at the airport.
The pilot and passenger remain in the hospital.
Co-pilot, Sergio Brabata of Mexico, died in the crash.
It had just arrived from Tucson, but he flight originated Sunday morning from Mexico City.
The aircraft made several attempts to land, circling the runway, before crashing. It is believed that they were planning to pick up passengers.
The airport will be closed through Monday.
