When it comes to green chili, everyone knows Western Omelette is a Colorado Springs staple. While customers say the food, chit chat and service is always good,
it's the gadgets that make this restaurant one-of-a-kind.
Servers are now using iPads instead of a pen and paper. Orders are sent back to the kitchen with a simple press of the button, and customers now get their food in minutes.
"It's really beneficial as far as speed and keeping track of everything," says server Gaylene Suiter.
Servers have been using the iPads for just a few months, but already they're seeing a jump in revenue of more than $100 a day.
Grace Griffin worked at the restaurant 15 years ago, but now happily stops by every once in a while as a customer.
"We got our wonderful food quickly, so I'm happy," she says.
Western Omelette says the next step will be swiping credit cards using the devices. They also believe other restaurants in the area will follow them on this technology wave.
