It is finally raining! (In a few spots)

As expected...we are seeing some rain showers develop around the Pikes Peak region. Showers have dampened roadways in Woodland Park, Mueller State Park and in spots north of downtown Colorado Springs so far on this Friday!  More showers are possible as the day goes-on.

Our temps will be much milder after our record tying high temps yesterday. We had a cool front push through which is why temps will be milder today, but it also brought in more moisture which will help give us a better chance of a few more afternoon and evening thundershowers. Chances are running about 20-30% around Teller and El Paso County. Only about 10% or less today in Pueblo, Canon City and Trinidad.

There is another RED FLAG WARNING for extreme fire danger today. The warning begins at noon and last until 9 pm, but covers a much smaller area compared to yesterday. PUEBLO, FREMONT, CUSTER, HUERFANO and LAS ANIMAS COUNTIES and the SAN LUIS VALLEY are covered by the warning today.
Expect slightly cooler temps overnight tonight. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy by tomorrow morning.
How about temps tomorrow even cooler than today! Readings will only be in the upper 70's in the Springs and middle 80's in Pueblo. There will be a better chance of a few more storms tomorrow afternoon and or two could become strong to severe.
The heat returns (for only one day) for your Father's Day Sunday. Temps are expected to be about 10-12 degrees hotter than Saturday with very slim chances for any storms. You might notice it will be a bit breezy at times. Winds from the southwest will blow at 15-25+ mph.
Another cool front arrives for Monday. Temps will drop by 10-15 degrees and our chances for thundershowers will go up!
Better news is that temps on Tuesday will stay cooler than average and will still have a pretty good chance for a couple of afternoon and evening storms!
Happy Father's Day to all Dad's this weekend!
