Colorado Springs, CO - KOAA News 5 anchorwoman Jennifer Horbelt is reuniting her family in Paducah, Kentucky and will be leaving News 5 at the end of May. Jennifer, who first joined the station in 2012 as anchor for News 5 Today will be returning to WPSD in Paducah as evening anchor. WPSD had been her television home prior to her move to Colorado Springs/Pueblo.
While Jennifer has grown professionally and personally during her time at KOAA - moving from mornings to the evening anchor role, and meeting and marrying her husband, Bobby Bonds, another KOAA employee - the pull to bring her family back together has been strong. "My sister and her husband have just had their first child," said Jennifer. "Spending so much time with them as they prepared for this amazing event in their lives, made it clear that I, and especially my mother, needed to move close to them so we could all be a regular part of each other's lives again. I feel very fortunate that I have the opportunity to make that happen."
"We are very happy that Jennifer is able to take this next step in her career and that it's also a move that includes pulling her family closer together," said Kelly Duffy, News 5 news director.
