The successful candidate will be part of a system-level V&V event execution team and responsible for ensuring that all system-level requirements and objectives are met. In addition, the candidate will work closely with the strategic execution team in the development of the overall system-level V&V plan. Additional responsibilities include: Identify system-level performance parameters and system-level interactions for verification and validation. Research and understand element M&S capabilities and limitations, flight test objectives, ground test objectives, and day-of-test events, and apply this knowledge to system-level V&V activities. Incorporate identified requirements into the V&V processes. Improve processes. Produce quality reports and products. Trace requirements. Close coordination with the government customer and outside organizations. The engineering performed spans multiple functional areas including threats, sensors (RF and IR), communications, interceptors, environment, lethality, phenomenology, critical engagement conditions, and key system functions. This position frequently has short turn-around demands requiring high quality products that will be presented to the customer, Element program offices, and senior MDA leadership. The position also requires a knowledge of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), some experience with M&S, some experience with BMDS test program and events, and some understanding of common Verification and Validation (V&V) processes and techniques. Occasional travel is required. This position has no immediate management responsibilities.
