Pueblo West has a new district manager, for the third time in the past year and a half. Jack Johnston was unanimously approved by metro district board members at Tuesday night's meeting.
"I'm excited about it," said Johnston, who's been a resident of Pueblo West since 2006. Johnston is the Executive Director of the HARP Authority.
"First I had an opportunity with HARP and now I have a chance with the Metro District to hopefully make a positive contribution to the community," said Johnston.
Johnston will step down from his job with the HARP Authority on Monday to begin his new job. However Johnston says he will continue to work on the riverwalk's Veteran's bridge project--overseeing construction and a ribbon cutting event scheduled for Veteran's Day.
Former Pueblo West District Manager Larry Howe-Kerr resigned from the position in April 2010. Before that, District Manager Don Saling was fired by the board in March 2009.
