Jury selection is under way in the trial of a Fort Carson soldier accused of shooting and killing a Colorado Springs couple.

Jomar Falu-Vives is accused of gunning down Cesar Ibanez and Amairany Cervantes in a drive by shooting that happened while the couple was hanging garage sale signs in June of 2008.

Falu-Vives was charged with their murders after being arrested in August of 2008 for allegedly shooting a fellow Fort Carson soldier. The soldier survived.

Falu-Vives is currently being held without bond at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. Opening statements are expected to begin on Thursday.
