Just announced: The Olinguito is the newest mammal discovery

Scientists and zoologists have just announced at the Smithsonian the discovery of the Olinguito.

It's a rare find since new mammals are not discovered very often.

The Olinguito is described as being 2.5 feet long and is the smallest member of the raccoon family.

The presenter says it resembles a cross between a "teddy bear and a house cat."

The news conference is still ongoing, and pictures of the Olinguito are not available just yet.

We will hopefully have more information once the conference wraps up.
