The wait ended Thursday. The best high school football player in Southern Colorado made one school's day, and broke the hearts of many more, when he signed his National Letter of Intent to play for Arizona State.
Kalen Ballage reportedly gave a verbal commit to the Sun Devils back in December, but visited UCLA last week. CU briefly claimed him on their website on signing day but it was taken down. A lot of colleges are bummed they didn't get him today, but he's excited.
"It's definitely cool. I mean, to a point, I'm speechless because I've dreaming about this ever since I was a little kid," says Ballage. "Now that my dreams are actually becoming a reality, it's something cool. You know, I contemplated back and forth for a couple of months, but at the end of the day, that's where my heart is at. Arizona State is the place for me."
Ballage is listed as a 4 star recruit, he's 6'2, 215 pounds, and runs a 4.37 40 yard dash. He was reportedly alos considering Colorado and Washington.
