LOS ANGELES (AP) - Johathan Quick tied a Kings club record with his NHL-leading 34th victory of the season and the Los Angeles got goals from Anze Kopitar, Brad Richardson and Oscar Moller to beat the Colorado Avalanche 2-0 on Saturday night.
In the final game for both teams before the Olympic break, the U.S. Olympic goalie earned his second shutout this season and sixth of his career with 22 saves while matching Mario Lessard's win total from 1980-81.
The Kings are fourth in the Western Conference with 78 points, one fewer than last season, when they missed the playoffs for the sixth straight time. U.S. Olympian Jack Johnson had two assists in the opener of the four-game season series.
