Kitchen opens to help launch your culinary business

"People call me and they want to have their product that they make in the market," says owner of The Kitchen Pantry Gloria Stultz.

For the past fifteen years, Stultz has also been in charge of running the Canon City Farmer's Market. Stultz sees firsthand the many people that wish they could sell some of their goodies to others, but there is a problem.

"If you make it in your home, you can't sell it," she adds. . .until now.

On October 1st, Stultz opened The Kitchen Pantry, which is a FDA-certified commercial kitchen. Anyone who wishes to sell a product they make now has the opportunity to do so.

The lovely space is cheerful with its blue and white checkerboard floor and freshly painted walls and wainscotted check-out counter. Currently, scattered throughout the space, among the many recently canned jams, jellies, and chocolate desserts, are bright yellow sunflowers. In front of the open and airy kitchen space sits a pantry that showcases all the homemade goods that are for sale.

"We have six barbecue sauce makers in Fremont County and nobody ever sees all of those barbecue sauces in the same place," says Stultz ... now they can.

The kitchen gives cooks, bakers and canners a large space to prepare their food and then to legally sell it to the community.

Patrons can rent the space to host a cooking class or to get a group of friends together in one spot to cook some holiday cookies.
