Labor Day forecast

A cold front that brought increased shower and thunderstorm activity Sunday has moved on, and high pressure behind it will generate an upslope breeze that will mean a few lingering thunderstorms this afternoon. Many areas will stay dry today, but higher elevations west of I-25 will be favored for those afternoon and early evening showers and thunderstorms today.

Expect highs in the low-to-mid 80's around Colorado Springs with upper 80's and lower 90's along the Arkansas River Valley, including Pueblo and Cañon City. Expect mid-to-upper 80's down the south end of I-25 around Walsenburg and Trinidad and along the New Mexico border toward Springfield.
