Last of the "Rat Pack" hotels closes in Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) - After nearly six decades in business, the Sahara Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip will close.

Casino owner SBE Entertainment Group says it doesn't make financial sense to continue operating the aging casino.

The Sahara opened in 1952 and is 1 of the last "Strip" properties from Sin City's Rat Pack era. It was featured in 1960's "Ocean's Eleven" as 1 of 5 casinos robbed by a group of World War II veterans.

The hotel was renovated many times in past years, even adding a rollercoaster to try and compete with business moving further down the "Strip".

The rollercoaster shut down last Saturday; the hotel will shutter its doors May 16th.
