At this point in time, it's hard to say when gas service will be returned to Walsenburg and Aguilar. Walsenburg Mayor Larry Patrick says they found out late last night about a gas line break around eight miles south of Walsenburg near I-25. The six inch thick pipe has been in use since about 1965, according to City Administrator Dave Johnston. Once it is dug up, they will be able to determine what happened and how it needs to be fixed. Right now they hope it will be tonight, but they say it might not be restored till sometime Thursday. We will keep you updated with the latest as we find out more.
