Less rain and more sun today

Our Tuesday started on a cool note with 40's and 50's across Southern Colorado. Dew point temperatures are also lower, in the 40's and 50's, indicating the moisture content of the air lower than yesterday when the dew points were in the 60's. Less moisture will mean less rain, and more sunshine will mean warmer afternoon temperatures. Warmer is relative to yesterday, and we will still be unseasonably cool today. Even though moisture is less abundant, moisture is still present. That means a stray shower cannot be ruled out, especially with the upslope breeze that develops this afternoon.

For high temperatures, expect lower-to-middle 70's on the Palmer Divide, including Colorado Springs, Monument, and Fort Carson. The Arkansas River Valley and areas to the south, including Pueblo, La Junta, Cañon City, Trinidad, and Springfield, will warm into the upper 70's and lower 80's.
